Are you accredited by NUC?

Unfortunately, the NUC does not currently have a laid down policy that accredits foreign distance learning institutions. Stay tuned for further updates on this as soon as there NUC has a policy that accredits foreign distance learning institutions in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, head to our website to learn more about our license and accreditation: www.nexford.org/accreditation

Nexford University is accredited in the US by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The DEAC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). We are also listed on CHEA: www.chea.org/nexford-university.

We're also licensed by Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) in Washington DC, which is the same organization that licenses all physical universities operating in Washington DC.

More detailed info:

NUC currently does not recognize nor have any regulatory cover for foreign universities or fully online universities. To put it into perspective, just the same way NUC can’t accredit a traditional American university that is outside of NUC’s jurisdiction, it also can’t accredit Nexford University. This may affect Nexford bachelor’s degree graduates who are looking to pursue NYSC, although graduates of Nexford University are still eligible to apply for a certificate of exclusion which is an official NYSC certificate.
